Tomas Bazika was born in Prague, Czech Republic, where he currently lives. Tomas has previously lived in Bangkok, Thailand, where he taught critical thinking, assisted the Czech Embassy, reviewed classical music concerts, and focused on street photography. During four years spent in Asia, he traveled to Taiwan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea, China, and Japan, driven by his passion to explore different cultures and record the everyday lives of local people. In his hometown, Tomas has launched Prague Music Connection, an online classical music platform, to promote musicians and orchestras through his articles, video and photography. Tomas continues to pursue his interest in Asian cultures as fellow at the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C., where, during his visits there, he researches Thai traditional music and Czech New Wave filmmakers. Recently, Tomas has completed his master’s thesis on Mozart’s music in Forman’s film Amadeus and joined Czech Radio as music editor.
